Black dads honored in Brooklyn march celebrating Juneteenth

BROOKLYN (PIX11) — In honor of Father’s Day and the Juneteenth vacation weekend, the third-annual March of Dads will happen in Brooklyn Sunday.

Organizers stated this march will probably be a celebration of Black fatherhood., and the purpose is to salute and empower Black and Brown fathers all over the place.

The march is hosted by a gaggle referred to as the Dad Gang, a group group that’s aimed toward constructing solidarity and assist between Black males and fathers world wide.

The group stated this march is a chance to unite households whereas additionally debunking adverse stereotypes which can be related to Black fathers within the media.

Mayor Eric Adams and Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso are anticipated to talk together with the group’s founder Sean Williams.

The rally kicks off at 10 a.m. on the Grand Military Plaza in Prospect Park. At round 11 a.m., the group will march to the Brooklyn Museum.
